Treehouse Grove

Rafting in the Smokies is the Real Deal!

When planning your trip to Gatlinburg, there are many options for lodging. Most people think of cabins as the go-to for a private mountain getaway, but have you ever considered staying in a treehouse? That’s right; you can now stay in a luxury treehouse during your visit. Located less than an hour from Rafting in the Smokies’ River Outpost is Treehouse Grove, the newest addition to Norton Creek Resort.

From concept to production

Ayres Vacation Rentals developed the concept for Treehouse Grove. Their goal was to create the most unique lodging experience in the Great Smoky Mountains. To oversee the construction of this project, they contacted Pete Nelson and his team. You might recognize Pete’s name from his hit show “Treehouse Masters,” which airs on Animal Planet.

Pete visited Norton Creek Resort to select the location for the build. He also hand-picked the specific trees to be used as the foundation for each treehouse. Once the planning phase was complete, the Nelson Treehouse and Supply crew made their way to Gatlinburg to start the build process. The result of their hard work is eight luxury treehouses, tucked away at the foot of Great Smoky Mountain National Park.
