A trip to Gatlinburg is always guaranteed to be a fun time. However, when most people think of family vacations to the area, “educational” isn’t the first word that comes to mind. What if you could combine both fun and learning in one location? The Titanic Museum in Pigeon Forge offers just that. Whether you’re a history buff longing to explore a piece of the past, or a parent looking for an interactive but educational trip for your little ones, the Titanic Museum is perfect for you. What makes this museum so unique? Read on to find out.

Visit

The massive Titanic Museum creates a truly immersive historical experience. It’s built half to scale and designed to look like the original ship. When you board, you’ll receive a pass with the name of a real passenger or crew member from the Titanic. Take the two-hour self-guided tour and experience what it was like to travel on the fated ship. You’ll get plenty of opportunities for hands-on experience: you can shovel coal in the heart of the vessel, sit in a lifeboat, or even touch an iceberg. Wander the third-class quarters, or explore the museum’s replica Grand Staircase, built from ship designers’ original plans. As you travel through the museum, you’ll see over 400 original Titanic artifacts, directly connecting you to the doomed ship. Not only will you leave entertained—you’ll also know much more about the Titanic and life at the turn of the century. You’ll even discover the fate of your passenger/crew member.
