Ponies in the Smokies

Rafting in the Smokies is the Real Deal!

Spring is just around the corner and with that brings the start of the car show season.

Kicking things off in style is the Ponies in the Smokies Car Show, scheduled for March 25-28, 2020. This is not your typical car show, rather it’s a four-day affair full of excitement for everyone from the die-hard Mustang enthusiast to the casual car show attendee.

Ponies in the Smokies (PITS) is run by T5 Productions and was started back in 2017. Going strong into its fourth year, it has hands down become the premier Mustang event in the Smoky Mountains. This year the show is being sponsored by National Parts Depot.

Day 1 – Wednesday, March 25th, 2020

Wednesday is the PITS kickoff day. Events will include the PITS Driving Experience and the Shine Run Day One. The PITS Driving Experience event will be held at Smokies Stadium and registration opens up at 9 a.m. Events at the driving experience include autocross, drifting and ride-alongs. The Shine Run stops will be open from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Day 2 – Thursday, March 26th, 2020

Thursday keeps the show going with drag racing and day two of the Shine Run. There will be a drag day cruise-in at Smokies Stadium, starting at 9 a.m. and then departing for English Mountain Dragway at 10:30 a.m. Drag racing gets underway at 11 a.m. and wraps up at 4 p.m.
The Shine Run party is hosted at Junction 35 spirits and runs from 5 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Day 3 – Friday, March 27, 2020

Friday is the indoor/outdoor car show taking place at the Sevierville Convention Center from
8 a.m. – 4 p.m. If you can only attend one day of the event, this is the one you’ll want to be at. Mustangs of all years will grace the floor of the convention center as well as the exterior grounds. Vendors will be on site giving live demos of hot new products. There will also be a swap meet and car corral. One exhibit that is highly anticipated is the “57” display which will feature one Mustang from each year spanning 1964–2020.

Day 4 – Saturday, March 28, 2020

On Saturday the show winds down at the Sevierville Convention Center with an all Ford cruise-in. All Ford makes and models are welcome. The cost of the cruise-in is just $10 and will allow you and a passenger access to the convention center. Awards will be given out from the previous day’s car show along with Shine Run prize giveaways.

For a car enthusiast, there is nothing more exciting than the first show of the season. Ponies In The Smokies does a fantastic job by putting on this action-packed four-day event that sets the bar extremely high for all other car shows.
