Every spring the Smokies come back to life with a host of exciting events. If you are planning to vacation here in the spring, we’ve got a list of events you won’t want to miss!

Car Junkies

Corvette enthusiasts will want to stop by at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge in March for the Corvette Expo. If you’ve ever dreamed of Corvette, they will be giving away a Z06 Corvette (no purchase necessary) to one lucky registrant. The event is on Friday and Saturday, March 15 and 16, 2019.

The Spring Rod Run is a three-day event held at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge. It’s the largest auto event in the area with hundreds of cars and a swap meet. The event runs April 19th through the 21st.

Nature Lovers

If you’re a fan of the great outdoors, you’ll love the Smoky Mountain Trout Tournament. If you feel like trying your hand, you can enter the tournament for a chance to win a prize in one of the following categories: adult, children, tourist, and local. The two-day tournament begins on April 6 and ends on the 7th. If you can’t make it to the tournament, don’t worry! Fishing in the Smokies is open year round.

Witness the botanical beauty of the Smokies at the Wildflower Pilgrimage from April 24th through the 27th. The all-ages event provides guided tours, seminars, and walks. Details and pricing are listed on the website including discounts for students and groups/classes.

Arts & Crafters

A Mountain Quiltfest celebrates its 25th year bringing the joy (and instruction) of quilting to the Smokies from March 19th through the 23rd at the LeConte Center in Pigeon Forge. Earning numerous awards from the International Festivals & Events Association, this event is one you shouldn’t miss if you want to get connected with this timeless art form. Also at the event will be appointment-only professional appraisals for quilts. Get more information by reviewing the program online.

Gatlinburg hosts the Hands-On Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Weekend, which gives visitors the opportunity to “do it yourself” from April 12–14. There are a variety of classes available from painting and pottery to jewelry making and weaving.
